Heantun Care

The Background

With three-day care nurseries in the Wolverhampton area and a children’s centre, Heantun Care Children and Families are committed to achieving an effective partnership between parents and the nurseries through good communication and two-way consultation.
Nursery staff observe and record each child’s progress and discuss each stage with families to ensure that a partnership approach to learning is developed.

The Challenge

Managing the registers, invoices and additional session requests for three nurseries was made difficult by Heantun’s use of spreadsheets.
“It was taking our staff too long to do anything,” said Jo Philips, Management Accountant for the Heantun group. “Calculating monthly fees, in particular, was time-consuming and it led to regular errors in our invoices, which then took time to rectify. There was no true correlation between our registers and the invoices that we were sending out – especially if children were booked in for extra sessions in that month. This made management reporting, staff allocations and future planning very difficult.”

The Solution

After learning about Connect Childcare’s nursery management software, Jo was interested to find out more about how it could help the staff and parents at Heantun Care Children and Families. She said:

The Result

“We have been very happy since we made the move to Connect Childcare – our lives have been made much easier,” said Jo.

The enquiries and reporting tools are fantastic and are helping us to take Heantun to the next level. We now have statistical information available to us whenever we need it, which is invaluable as we look to grow and develop the nurseries.
